“We are very pleased to have Emil as part of the Baird team,” said Dan Renouard, Baird’s Chief Operating Officer of Institutional Equity Services. “We conducted a rigorous search for the right person to lead this vital and growing part of our business. Emil’s leadership and experience are tremendous additions to this important effort. With his buy-side perspective, we look forward to expanding our program trading platform with a priority on servicing our client’s portfolio trading issues. In the coming month, we will be adding additional program trading professionals to work with Emil in building out the Program Trading Desk. ”
Baird’s equity trading services focus on providing best execution, anonymity, responsive service, and a broad array of trading products. In addition to program trading, Baird offers traditional high-touch equity trading and algorithmic trading, as well as CSA and Soft Dollar execution.
Skulski’s appointment underscores the continued growth of Baird’s Institutional Equity Services business, which posted its 15th consecutive year of record revenues in 2009, despite the turbulent market environment. Other highlights over the past year include the opening of a new, state-of-the-art trading floor, hiring Peter Gunderson as head of Principal Trading, and expanding the team with multiple Institutional traders and brokers in both the U.S. and Europe.
