Following a series of notable hires and deal activity in Europe, Co-Heads of Global Investment Banking, Brian Doyal and Brian McDonagh sat down with Financial News of London to discuss their strategy to grow Baird’s global presence.

Despite fluctuating market conditions, Doyal and McDonagh detail Baird having managed to double its investment banker roster in Europe over the last five years, welcoming 10 senior directors to the firm since 2020. Most recently, Baird has added Pat Guerin, Co-Head of Global M&A to the investment banking practice’s team of senior leaders in the London office. The firm has also added Sebastian Daumueller as Managing Director in the Global Technology and Services group, and Luca Noventa as Director in the Global Consumer group.

“This has been probably the single most profound shift in the investment banking industry over the last decade,” said Doyal. “It not only makes it an attractive opportunity for us, but it also makes it an attractive opportunity for bankers who want to join the platform.”
