Gimi S.p.A. ("Gimi"), a portfolio company of Aksia Group and Alcedo SGR, was recently acquired by Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions, a Business Group of Freudenberg Group. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Gimi is the market leader in Italy for laundry care products, including ironing boards and laundry dryers, and has a strong position throughout Europe. Founded in 1970, Gimi has grown under current ownership and management, achieving more than €80 million of sales in 2015 across +80 countries globally. Gimi is supported by approximately 320 employees, a fully automated manufacturing centre of excellence in Monselice, Italy, three logistical platforms in Spain, Germany, Poland and a commercial subsidiary in India. Gimi is headquartered in Monselice, Italy.

Aksìa Group is a private equity investor that specializes in the acquisition of controlling interests and in the active management of small and medium-sized Italian companies. Aksia Group targets strong businesses with high engineering competencies, specialized international leadership, blue-chip customers and underlying market growth. Aksia Group, headquartered in Milan, Italy, is currently investing out of Aksia Capital IV Fund with €110 million of available funds.

Alcedo SGR is a private equity investor firm that specializes in the management of Closed-end, Reserved Alternative Investment Funds with a predominant focus on small and medium-sized businesses in North and Central Italy. Alcedo SGR invests capital for growth and establishes close partnerships with entrepreneurs and managers to support the execution of a growth plan that leverages synergistic expertise. Alcedo SGR is currently investing out of Alcedo IV Fund with a value of €195 million. Alcedo SGR is headquartered in Treviso, Italy.
