New York, Dec. 15, 2022 – Baird, an employee-owned, international financial services firm, today announced that Alexander (Alex) Mejia has joined as Managing Director and Co-Head of its new Global General Partnership (GP) Solutions Group, further expanding the advisory services it provides to its private equity clients. Mejia will co-lead this new team alongside Jeremy Duksin, who is set to join Baird in February as Managing Director and Co-Head of the Global GP Solutions Group. Mejia and Duksin will be based in New York City and report to Baird’s Co-Heads of Global Investment Banking, Brian Doyal and Brian McDonagh.

Establishing the GP Solutions offering enables Baird to capitalize on the rapidly growing private equity secondary and co-investment markets, advising GPs as they increasingly access the secondary market and other flexible sources of capital to optimize their assets and portfolios. Under Mejia and Duksin’s leadership, Baird intends to deliver the full suite of GP secondary market solutions in a highly integrated way with its financial sponsor coverage and industry team expertise.

Mejia joins Baird from Goldman Sachs where he was a Managing Director and Head of Goldman’s Secondary Market Advisory team. He has over 20 years of investment banking experience, primarily advising financial sponsor clients on single and multi-asset continuation funds, tender offers, equity strip sales and other GP-initiated transaction structures. Before Goldman Sachs, Mejia was a Managing Director at Lazard Freres & Co. in the Private Capital Advisory business where he specialized on GP-initiated transactions. He also served as the Chief Operating Officer of the business unit. Earlier in his career he held advisory roles in Credit Suisse’s Private Equity Group and the Bank of New York’s M&A Group. Mejia holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Vanderbilt University.

Duksin will join Baird from Credit Suisse where he was a Managing Director and Global Head of Capital Solutions, an area within the firm’s Private Fund Group. Jeremey has advised on over 80 GP secondary and co-investment transactions over the past 11 years and has significant expertise and transaction experience across all GP-led secondary solutions. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Duksin spent several years with Lehman Brothers working in the firm’s Investment Banking, Investment Management and Principal Investing divisions. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from New York University.

We are thrilled that Alex and Jeremy have decided to join our Global Investment Banking team. They bring extensive GP secondary market expertise and transaction experience to our platform and will allow us to deliver best-in-class GP advisory solutions to our PE clients.
