Crafting Organic, Transparent Stress Management

Juna creates natural, nutrient-rich stress management products. Women today often experience schedule and sensory overload, which can lead to larger physiological problems with sleep and gut health. Juna aims to give women a plant-powered option with attention to ingredient selection.

Jewel Zimmer, Co-Founder and CEO, and Taylor Lamb, Co-Founder and CMO, discuss trends in stress management products.

Key Takeaways

  1. Mental Health is a Growing Issue: “55% of Americans are stressed, one in four Americans have insomnia, and all of these issues are causing crazy hormonal imbalances, increases in infertility, over stimulation, bad sleep, and the list goes on,” Lamb said.

  2. Unique Ingredients, Good Products: In order to make an efficacious product, the ingredients should be carefully selected. “No two ingredients, no two products are created equally, so it's very important to us that we look at source… Because we're using plant-powered ingredients, because we're using plants and active botanicals, it's important to understand how these are grown, how these are farmed…” said Zimmer.

  3. Busy Mothers, Little Time: Moms are pressed for time and seeking products they can quickly, easily incorporate into their lives. “I mean, there's so many things out there that we know we should be doing, like working out more, eating healthier… But as a busy mom, I don't have the time to, and I feel like so many women, especially in our target demographic, feel the same way. So, we create every single product to easily and seamlessly fit into a woman's everyday routine,” Lamb said.

  4. Organic and Transparent: Juna sees a plant-powered future for the wellness market. "I think people are going to be turning away from quick-fix pharmaceuticals or these enhancers that aren't organic and aren't natural to be putting into our bodies. And I think transparency will be another big thing that evolves over the next few years,” Lamb said.

The do-it-all generation, which is women like Jewel and I, are experiencing sensory and schedule overload like never before. And as mothers and busy career women, we really felt this firsthand. And we were looking for effective, yet non-pharmaceutical solutions to some of the problems we were facing, and there was nothing on the market.
