Frankfurt Investment Banking Team Hosts Workshop with START Foundation

Our Frankfurt Investment Banking team recently had the pleasure of hosting 20 students from START Foundation for an afternoon of hands-on learning and insight into the world of business. Launched in 2022, START is a unique scholarship program that supports youth with their own or family immigration history in their engagement for democracy and participation in shaping the future. Baird has supported the organization for several years.

Participating students, who ranged from ages 14-18, gained an exclusive introduction to the financial world. The students were highly talented and highly diverse, and all shared personal experience with migration. Using a real Baird transaction as a case study, Baird bankers led workshops for the students to help them explore dimensions of business, including how to evaluate business opportunities, weighing opportunities and risks, mastering negotiations and more. Nearly 30 Baird bankers, from interns to Managing Directors, helped plan and host the event.

Every student deserves the opportunity to experience, learn and succeed. Giving back is important to us as a firm and as a team, and we're proud to support organizations like START that are making a real difference in the lives of young people.
