Boston, Dec. 20, 2022 – Baird, an employee-owned, international financial services firm, today announced that Matt Russell has joined the firm’s Global Investment Banking business as Managing Director in its Global Technology & Services Investment Banking Team. Russell is based in Boston where he focuses on infrastructure, security and enterprise software. 

Prior to joining Baird, Russell was a Managing Director in the technology practice at Oppenheimer, where he executed transactions across the software sector. With more than 25 years of technology and software investment banking experience, he has worked with clients across the technology sector, including enterprise, communications, infrastructure and security software sectors, as well as IT services and business process outsourcing. Russell also worked at Deutsche Bank, where he was Global Head of the Technology Services Practice, the technology group at Credit Suisse First Boston and Salomon Smith Barney. Russell began his career at Hambros Bank in London. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
