Stephen Simpson, Managing Director

Steve brings more than 30 years of experience to Baird, specializing in municipal finance, business development, investment banking and capital services. Working with such companies as Oppenheimer & Co., RBC Capital Markets, Advest Inc. and State Street Global Markets, he has advised on, structured and executed approximately $19 billion of tax-exempt and taxable bond issues in the federal infrastructure, private higher and secondary education, healthcare and not-for-profit sectors. He has specific expertise in securing initial credit ratings for issuers and borrowers and developing innovative financing structures that meet his clients’ long-term needs. Steve earned his bachelor’s degree in political economy from Williams College and attained his Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He previously served as treasurer of the Acton-Boxborough United Way.
