Schlemmer GmbH (“Schlemmer”), a subsidiary of Mackprang Holding GmbH & Co. KG (“Mackprang”),which is a portfolio company of funds advised by HANNOVER Finanz GmbH (“HANNOVER Finanz" or "HF”), has been acquired by 3i Group, plc (“3i”) (LSE:III).

Founded in 1954, Schlemmer develops and produces cable protection systems for automotive and industrial applications. Schlemmer employs 2,500 people globally, and generated consolidated net sales of €263 million in 2015. Over the past 20 years, Schlemmer has successfully grown internationally, which is reflected in a double digit annual revenue growth rate. Schlemmer has built long-standing relationships with European and Northern American as well as Japanese and Chinese Tier 1 Suppliers and Original Equipment Manufacturers. Schlemmer offers a well-diversified product portfolio and operates a global manufacturing network of 23 plants in 14 countries. Schlemmer is well-positioned to continue its growth path, particularly as its cable management segment is set to benefit from megatrends in the automotive industry such as connectivity, e-mobility, autonomous driving and safety. Schlemmer is headquartered in Poing, Germany.

HANNOVER Finanz, founded in 1979 and backed by institutional investors, is one of the few private equity houses in Germany to take on minority as well as majority shareholdings. HF invests in mid-sized enterprises, adopting a long-term perspective. Funding is provided via seven separate evergreen funds; the investors are mainly insurance companies and pension funds. Typical HF investments promote growth or facilitate owners’ succession in healthy companies with at least €20 million revenues. HANNOVER Finanz is headquartered in Hannover, Germany.
