Goldman Sachs MLP and Energy Renaissance Fund (the “Fund”) (NYSE: GER) recently completed an initial public offering of 70,000,000 shares of common stock at a price of $20.00 per share, generating gross proceeds of $1.4 billion. The Fund intends to invest the net proceeds from the offering in accordance with its investment objective and policies.

The Goldman Sachs MLP and Energy Renaissance Fund is a newly-organized, non-diversified, closed-end management investment company with no operating history. Goldman Sachs Asset Management, L.P., a registered investment adviser, serves as the investment adviser of the Fund. The Fund's investment objective is to provide a high level of total return with an emphasis on distributions to shareholders. The Fund seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing primarily in master limited partnerships. The Fund is headquartered in New York, New York.
