Maxxam Analytics International Corporation (“Maxxam”), a portfolio company of OMERS Private Equity Inc. (“OPE”), was recently acquired by Bureau Veritas SA (“Bureau Veritas”) for CAD$650 million (approximately $585 USD).Maxxam is a leader in analytical services and solutions to the energy, environmental, food and DNA industries. Energy solutions include analysis of natural gas, crude oil, diesel fuel and numerous other oil products. Environmental services cover soil and waste analysis, water quality, ultra-trace contaminant analysis and environmental toxicity evaluations necessary for construction projects and oil infrastructure. Food safety and DNA / forensics services concern the quality of food, identification of microbes, nutritional labeling, drug residue testing, environmental pollutants and DNA testing helping to identify the biological characteristics of people and animals. Maxxam processes approximately 2.5 million samples and generates in excess of 41 million results annually through Canada’s only national network of laboratories. Maxxam is headquartered in Mississauga, Canada.
