Engineered Controls International, LLC (“ECI” or the “Company”), a portfolio company of Sentinel Capital Partners (“Sentinel”), was recently acquired by Windjammer Capital Investors (“Windjammer”) and CITIC Capital Partners (“CITIC”). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. ECI is a leader across its product lines in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Since its founding in 1908, ECI has grown significantly and serves a diversified international base of more than 550 customers, including propane and cryogenic gas distributors and leading global storage tank OEMs located in more than 100 countries. ECI provides mission critical products for applications where safety, durability, and performance are primary concerns. ECI is based in Elon, North Carolina. Sentinel Capital Partners specializes in buying and building middle market companies in the United States and Canada in partnership with management. Sentinel targets aerospace and defense, business services, consumer, distribution, food and restaurants, franchising, healthcare, and industrial businesses. Sentinel invests in management buyouts, recapitalizations, corporate divestitures, and going-private transactions of established businesses with EBITDA of up to $40 million. Sentinel also invests in special situations, including balance sheet restructurings and operational turnarounds. Sentinel Capital Partners is based in New York, New York. Windjammer Capital Investors is a private investment firm focused on control and non-control investments in middle market businesses. ECI represents the second platform investment in Windjammer Senior Equity Fund IV, which manages $726 million worth of commitments and closed in March, 2013. Since its formation in 1990, Windjammer has invested over $1.1 billion in 50 companies across a broad range of industries. Windjammer has offices in both Waltham, Massachusetts and Newport Beach, California.
