Stellus Capital Investment Corporation (NYSE: SCM) (“Stellus” or the “Company”) recently completed its initial public offering of 9,200,000 shares of common stock at a price of $15.00 per share, generating gross proceeds of $138.0 million. The Company intends to use the net proceeds from the offering together with borrowings under its credit facility to pay the outstanding balance on the bridge loan it incurred to acquire its initial portfolio.

Stellus is an externally managed, closed-end, non-diversified business development company. The Company is a direct lender targeting investments, typically ranging from $10 million to $30 million, primarily in private middle-market companies, which the Company defines as typically those with $5.0 million to $50.0 million of EBITDA. The Company’s investment objective is to generate risk-adjusted returns primarily by originating and investing in first lien, second lien, unitranche and mezzanine debt financing, often times with a corresponding equity investment.
