Baird served as the exclusive financial advisor to Stark and Syntegra Capital
AboutStark Holding GmbH (“Stark” or the “Company”), a portfolio company of Syntegra Capital (“Syntegra”), has been acquired by Pearson PLC (“Pearson”) (LSE: PSON). Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Stark is a leading provider of education material for pupils, including preparation books for tests and exams, and also provides teaching aids for teachers. The Company targets a wide variety of school types across most German federal states with a focus on Mathematics, German and English. In addition, Stark engages in career advice books and, since 2010, offers blended learning tutoring services through its STARK plus brand.
Pearson PLC is one of the world’s leading learning companies organised around three business divisions: Pearson Education, Financial Times Group and the Penguin Group. Pearson Education provides educational materials across all media and technologies with a strong presence in all important economic regions.
Syntegra Capital is an independent private equity firm focusing on investments in private small and medium enterprises headquartered in France, Germany and Italy with enterprise values ranging from €30 million to €300 million. Syntegra Capital conducts its investment activities from offices in Frankfurt, Milan and Paris.
