AboutACTA B.V. (the “Company”), the parent holding company of Kiwa N.V. (“Kiwa”) and Shield Group Nederland B.V. (“Shield”) and a portfolio company of ABN AMRO Participaties (“AAP”), has been acquired by Company Management with the backing of NPM Capital N.V. (“NPM”). Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1948, Kiwa is an independent highly qualified certification body providing related inspection, testing, technology, training and consultancy services internationally. Headquartered in Rijswijk, the Netherlands, Kiwa has more than 1,100 employees in 9 countries and annual turnover in excess of €110 million. Kiwa serves a wide array of sectors including the water, energy, construction, infrastructure, automotive & transportation, agro-food, safety & security, healthcare and environmental industries.
Based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Shield provides statutory inspection services to minimise risks associated with hazardous materials through inspections, laboratory analyses and independent supervision during the removal of such substances. With over 140 employees, Shield has operations in the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain, and is one of the largest pan-European service providers in the sector.
AAP provides equity financing to profitable companies in the Netherlands across nearly all sectors (with the exception of financial services and real estate). AAP invests on average between €5 million and €30 million per transaction and the investment team has completed over 100 transactions.
NPM focuses on medium-sized companies generally located in the Benelux region. With current interests in some 30 businesses, new investments range from €50 million to €500 million across all industry sectors.
