Baird’s Anne (Mongoven) Sample Named to The Bond Buyer’s ‘2025 Rising Stars’ List
Anne (Mongoven) Sample, Managing Director, Municipal Bonds Underwriter, was recently named to The Bond Buyer’s 2025 list of Rising Stars.
The honor recognizes municipal finance professionals under the age of 40 whose leadership, collaborative spirit, innovation and creativity have enabled them to make a positive contribution to the community.
Anne began her career at Baird as an intern in the fixed income department, focusing on municipal bonds. She was then hired full-time as an Assistant Municipal Underwriter after graduating from Marquette University with degrees in applied investment management and finance. In 2014, she was promoted to Senior Vice President, Municipal Underwriter, and in 2025, was elevated to Managing Director.

For more than a decade, Anne has served as a lead underwriter, specializing in charter schools nationwide, as well as California and Wisconsin issuers. In 2025 alone, she priced more than $1 billion in financings for Wisconsin school districts.
In addition to her work on Baird’s municipal trading desk, Anne is a constant advocate for women and serves as a mentor to many starting their careers. Currently she serves on the board of the Marquette Business Alumni Association and has participated in the organization’s mentorship program for several years. She is also involved with the Municipal Bond Women’s Forum.
