Baird’s Business Owner Solutions (BOS) group is pleased to announce that it advised Halma plc (LSE: HLMA) on its sale of Fiberguide Industries, Inc. (“Fiberguide”) to Molex LLC (“Molex”). With the transaction, Fiberguide will join Molex’s Polymicro business, a Phoenix-based provider of specialty optical fiber and fluidic-based products tailored for medical, industrial and datacom applications.

The BOS team guided U.K.-based Halma in finding a North American home for its cutting-edge optical fiber assembly subsidiary. “The successful divestiture of Fiberguide aligns with Halma’s strategy of focusing its global portfolio of companies on in its core markets of safety, health care, and environmental services,” commented Andrew Williams, Group Chief Executive at Halma.

As a combined entity, Fiberguide is uniquely positioned to help Molex address its most technically daunting medical application offerings, including high-power laser surgery, DNA sequencing and flow cytometry. Both Molex and Fiberguide bring extensive expertise in optical fibers, analytical probes and fully packaged fiber assemblies to support increasing demands for minimally invasive medical procedures.

Headquartered in Caldwell, Idaho, Fiberguide is a leading designer and manufacturer of customized optical fiber arrays and cable assemblies, catering to technology-focused customers in the healthcare, biotechnology, industrial technology, specialty data communications, and analytical instrumentation markets.

Halma is a global group of life-saving technology companies providing technology solutions in the safety, health, and environmental markets.

Molex LLC, a subsidiary of Koch Industries, is a leading global connectivity and electronics solutions provider.
