MILWAUKEE, Sept. 18, 2020Baird has been honored as one of the 2020 Best Workplaces for Women by Fortune and Great Place to Work.  Baird, an employee-owned, international wealth management, asset management, investment banking/capital markets and private equity firm, ranked No. 51 on the list. The firm has also been recognized on the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list for the past 17 years, ranking No. 13 on the 2020 list.

The Best Workplaces for Women ranking considered feedback representing over 4.9 million employees working at Great Place to Work-Certified organizations. Great Place to Work, a global people analytics and consulting firm, evaluated more than 60 elements of team members’ experience on the job. These included the extent to which employees trust leaders, the respect with which people are treated, the fairness of workplace decisions, and how much camaraderie there is among the team. Rankings are based on employees’ feedback and reward companies who best include all employees, no matter who they are or what they do for the organization. Eighty-five percent of a firm’s evaluation is based on how the company’s female associates rated their experiences at their workplaces.

“We are honored to be recognized by our associates for being a great workplace for women,” said Steve Booth, Baird President & CEO. “Our ongoing commitment to being a great place to work where all of our associates can thrive enables us to attract and retain talented women who provide the best service and advice to our clients.”

Baird’s Ascend Women’s Associate Resource Group has more than 680 women and men as members and seeks to expand leadership opportunities in support of the firm’s goal of becoming the employer of choice for women. Ascends plans educational, networking and leadership opportunities throughout the year and hosts a series of small networking groups to develop new relationships; enhance existing connections; share perspectives, experiences and expertise and collaborate on key professional and work-life challenges.

“We are extremely grateful for the incredible work and contributions Ascend has made to help ensure Baird is a great place to work for women,” said Leslie Dixon, Baird’s Chief Human Resources Officer. “While we are happy to be named to this list, we know this is an ongoing journey and we are committed to always getting better.”

“Best workplaces like Baird are committed to addressing gender issues and evolving their behaviors and mindsets to narrow the gender gap,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “By creating an inclusive culture, Best Workplaces on this list see an increase in innovation regardless of gender, giving them a competitive advantage to thrive during these uncertain times.”
