Matt Robbins, Vice President
Matt joined Baird’s Kentucky Public Finance group in November 2024, bringing 29 years of public education business experience. He served Daviess County Public Schools for 29 years, most recently as the District Superintendent, and formerly as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer. Matt’s experience with Daviess County Public Schools provides him with a unique perspective and skillset to manage the financial, accounting, construction, and logistical aspects of a district. Matt is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), previously working for the Owensboro accounting firm of Riney, Hancock & Co, CPA’s. He earned his Master’s Degree in Education Administration from the University of Louisville, his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Kentucky and completed the UK/Gatton School Finance Institute. Matt was awarded Kentucky’s Goldenrod Outstanding School Business Official of the Year in 2013, and he continues leading the finance training for the Kentucky New Superintendents Program.
Matt has served on the KDE Commissioner’s Advisory Committee and has previously served on the Board of KASS (Kentucky Association of School Superintendent) and on the Board of KASBO (Kentucky Association of School Business Administrators). Matt also served as President for the Council for Better Education.
