The School District No. 52 Tazewell County (Washington), Illinois, (the “District”) serves the growing community of Washington in central Illinois near Peoria. The District provides educational services to local families through its elementary and middle schools and remains focused on maintaining high-quality facilities that support student learning. Washington is a well-established community with a strong commitment to education and continued investment in maintaining and improving local infrastructure.

On September 24, 2025, Baird served as sole managing underwriter to the School District No. 52 Tazewell County (Washington), Illinois on its $23,745,000 General Obligation Bonds, Series 2025 (the “Bonds”). Proceeds will be used to construct and equip a new Lincoln School building; renovate, repair, and equip existing facilities; improve sites; refund certain outstanding bonds; pay capitalized interest; and cover issuance costs.

The District’s A+ rated Bonds, enhanced by Build America Mutual (BAM) insurance, were issued with a final maturity in 2047. To meet the District’s financing objectives and optimize investor appeal, Baird structured the Bonds with 6.50% coupons in 2033 and longer maturities, creating an attractive profile for investors who have typically remained on the sidelines for standard 5% school offerings.

The strategy proved successful as Baird built a strong order book with subscriptions ranging from 2 to 8 times, with heavier oversubscription in the longer maturities. This strong demand allowed the District to achieve favorable pricing levels, reflecting solid investor interest across all maturities.

Through creative structuring, disciplined pricing, and active investor outreach, Baird successfully executed the District’s financing, achieving the client’s objectives and delivering a favorable outcome.
