Tim Kelly, Managing Director, Public Finance Banker

Tim Kelly joined Baird in 2025, bringing over 25 years of public finance banking experience. Throughout his career, he has worked on numerous transactions totaling more than $13 billion in par amount. Prior to Baird, Kelly held roles at both bulge bracket and regional investment banks, with a focus on higher education and non-profit sectors. While Kelly primarily focuses on the higher education sector, he also has extensive expertise serving other non-profit sectors, including housing and healthcare. Kelly possesses a deep understanding of a wide range of financing structures, securities, credit profiles, as well as derivative products.  

Kelly serves clients across all areas of financial analysis, including cash flow management, restructuring opportunities, and credit and debt capacity analyses. Kelly received his bachelor’s degree in business administration, with concentrations in finance and management information systems, from the University of Albany.
