Mike Williamson, Vice President, Public Finance Banker

Michael Williamson works with Baird’s Public Finance platform, serving clients and developing relationships throughout Illinois while also supporting the firm’s public finance efforts in North Carolina and across the East Coast. He joined Baird in 2022 after spending a decade as a school business administrator in the Milwaukee area, where he oversaw budgeting, long-term financial planning, capital planning, and other financial and operational matters.

His experience working within a public entity gives Michael a firsthand understanding of the budgetary pressures, competing priorities and long-term planning considerations his clients face. Combined with his background as a financial analyst, this perspective helps him evaluate financing alternatives and develop solutions tailored to each client’s objectives and current municipal market conditions.

Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, and an M.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater.
