JP Zaptin, Managing Director, Trader

JP Zaptin is a Managing Director and Municipal Bond Trader. He supports secondary trading for Baird’s Fixed Income Capital Markets municipal trading platform, focusing on a broad range of municipal securities, specifically the long end of the exempt space as well as taxable municipals across the curve. JP joined Baird in 2025 and brings over 25 years of fixed income experience, including 22 years dedicated to municipal securities.

Prior to joining Baird, JP held senior roles at JPMorgan, Prager, and FHN Financial, and most recently served as Head of Municipal Trading at Hilltop Securities. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University in New York City.
