John Baumann, Managing Director, Trader

John Baumann is a Managing Director and CMBS Trader within Baird’s Fixed Income Capital Markets division. In this role, John is responsible for trading commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), delivering liquidity, market insight, and customized execution strategies to a wide range of institutional clients. John joined Baird in 2017 to focus on Conduit and SASB in the non-agency sector and FREMF subs and B-Pieces in the agency space. He began his career as a leasing broker in Cushman and Wakefield’s NYC office to represent institutional building owners. Prior to joining Baird, he transitioned to CRE Capital Markets at Jefferies to focus on credit analysis and high yield opportunities. John earned his Master of Business Administration in Investments and Securities from the University of Notre Dame and bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Columbia University.
