Community Involvement

Community Involvement Baird has a long-standing tradition of giving back to the communities in which our associates live and work, both on a corporate and individual level. The Baird Foundation provides support to many charitable organizations, and many of our associates actively volunteer for a number of charitable causes, often in a leadership capacity.

In addition to the Baird Foundation’s financial support, associates are extraordinarily generous in their support of community campaigns and causes. Two prime examples are local United Way campaigns , and the Milwaukee-area campaign for the United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF).
  • In 2007, 97% of Milwaukee-area Baird associates contributed to the UPAF campaign, the fourth consecutive year associate participation exceeded 94%.
  • In 2007, 98% of our Milwaukee-area associates also contributed to the United Way of Greater Milwaukee campaign, marking five consecutive years of participation in excess of 95%.

Baird has also recently partnered with the Deanna Favre HOPE Foundation to increase awareness of breast cancer and its prevention and has raised more than $50,000 for the foundation. Formed by Deanna Favre – a breast cancer survivor and wife of Green Bay Packers quarterback, Brett Favre – the foundation focuses on the importance of early diagnosis and helps provide diagnostic services, education and financial support for underinsured and medically underserved women facing the disease.

Baird also supports and recognizes the community involvement of its associates in various ways:

  • "Baird Cares” provides associates with an extra paid day off each year to volunteer in their communities.
  • Through the Charitable Gift Matching Program, the Baird Foundation matches a portion of Baird associates’ nonprofit contributions.
  • Brenton H. Rupple Citizenship Award - Named for a former Baird chairman noted for his dedication to the community, the award is presented annually to a Baird associate who makes outstanding contributions to civic, charitable and academic organizations.
