Michael J. Schroeder, President: toggle
Michael J. Schroeder
Mike Schroeder is President of Baird Private Wealth Management. Since 2001, he has been responsible for all sales and operating activities of Baird’s Private Wealth Management network and oversees Financial Advisor Services, Private Asset Management, and other units supporting the efforts of Financial Advisors, who serve Baird’s individual, institutional and corporate clients.
Mike is a member of the Baird board of directors and the firm’s Executive, Human Capital, Credit, Investment Advisory, Operations, Product Management and Diversity Steering committees. Prior to being named a Regional Director of Private Wealth Management in 1995, Mike was a Portfolio Manager, serving both individual and institutional investors. He joined Baird in 1986 and started his career as a Financial Advisor.
Mike received a BBA in Finance, Investments and Banking from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is a graduate of the Securities Industry Institute at The Wharton School of Business.
Erik Dahlberg, Executive Director icon: toggle
Erik Dahlberg is Executive Director of Baird’s Private Wealth Management Branch System, a role in which he leads and executes the shared strategic vision for the firm’s Private Wealth Management business. He is responsible for oversight of all wealth management branches, with his primary focus being on ensuring a client-first mindset by providing support and resources to Baird’s Divisional Directors.
Previously, Erik was a Regional Director for Baird’s Private Wealth Management group and Branch Manager of Baird’s largest wealth management office in Milwaukee, Wis. He joined Baird in 1987 as a financial advisor in the Janesville, Wis., office and took over as branch manager in 1993.
Erik is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management with an emphasis on finance.
John Mabee, Vice Chairman: toggle
John Mabee is Vice Chairman for Baird’s Private Wealth Management business. In this role, he works closely with regional and branch leadership to recruit and retain the best advisors in the industry, as well as identify new growth opportunities for the business. He also focuses broadly on the needs of branch associates, understanding how the firm can best support our wealth management professionals in serving their clients.
Previously, John had been a Regional Director since 2000, a role in which he focused on building out Baird’s Eastern Region as well as establishing new offices in other parts of the country. He also managed our Peoria, Ill., office for six years. He joined Baird as a financial advisor in 1994.
John’s career began more than 30 years ago, as a financial advisor in E.F. Hutton & Co.’s Peoria, Ill., office. He was in production for approximately 20 years and served as Branch Manager of the Peoria office for 17 years. He has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from St. Ambrose University.
Matthew S. Curley, Divisional Director: toggle
Matthew S. Curley
Matt Curley is a Divisional Director for Baird’s Private Wealth Management business. In this role, he oversees Baird’s branches in the Eastern half of the United States.
He was previously a Regional Director for Baird’s Private Wealth Management group. Before joining Baird, Matt was a First Vice President and Financial Advisor at Smith Barney for 13 years. Prior to Smith Barney, he began his career at Baird as a financial advisor in the Winnetka, Ill., branch. As an advisor for 17 years, Matt focused on investment management consulting for high-net-worth clients and institutions.
Matt earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance from the University of Iowa.
Kimberly P. Thekan, Director of Advisor Talent Strategiesicon: toggle
Kimberly P. Thekan
Kimberly is Director of Advisor Talent Strategies for Baird’s Private Wealth Management business. She and her team are responsible for recruiting and transitioning experienced financial advisors as well as those new to the business. She is responsible for the Teams and Legacy Planning, which facilitate smooth and effective partnerships and transitions among advisors.
Kimberly joined Baird in 2008 as the Human Capital Business Partner for Private Wealth Management. She joined Baird’s Wealth Management Leadership Team in 2010 to lead talent acquisition and integration efforts for the business.
Kimberly, who has more than 20 years of professional experience, began her career as an auditor with Arthur Andersen and later transitioned into Human Capital. She has contributed to team and organizational success at Arthur Andersen, Grant Thornton and Stark Investments where she served as the Director of Human Resources.
Kimberly earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
