In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Baird Managing Director and Investment Banker Nick Pavlidis shared his perspective on many consumer-focused private-equity firms shifting their focus to corporate divestitures. Pavlidis explains:

“Strategic buyers are likely to be less interested in declining businesses, and may not have a multiyear investment horizon,” said Pavlidis. “Whenever we’re doing a divestiture, we’re focusing on the private-equity community for that reason.”
