Joel is the Co-Head of Baird's Industrial Group and his transaction activity is focused primarily on the Industrial Technology sector. He is also a member of Baird's Fairness Opinion Committee. Joel provides mergers and acquisition and other financial advisory services to clients in a variety of industrial technology verticals, including Test & Measurement Instrumentation and Sensors, Automation Solutions and Testing/Tech-enabled services and software.

Before joining Baird in 1994, Joel was a member of the Kidder, Peabody & Co. Investment Banking Group. He received his MBA with high honors from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and holds a BS in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Brown University.

Joe is Co-Head of Baird's Global Industrial Group and has worked in investment banking at Baird for 20 years. Joe has deep experience in public and private company equity, debt and M&A transactions and strategic advisory assignments within the global industrial sector. Joe’s sub-sector expertise includes: process and flow control, capital equipment, energy equipment and other related markets. Joe manages key client relationships in North America, Europe and Asia, and his experience includes advising on numerous cross-border transactions. Prior to joining Baird, Joe was an accountant at Deloitte and Touche, LLP, where he provided audit and advisory services. He received an MBA, with honors, from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BS degree in Accounting from Marquette University. Joe is very active in the community, including current and past involvement at Marquette University High School, St. Anthony Parish, The Parenting Network, the United Way and the Kettle Moraine School District.

Justin is a Managing Director in Baird's Industrial Group and has coverage responsibility for the global packaging industry. Justin’s investment banking experience covers a range of products, including mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, high yield debt and leveraged lending. Justin has advised on more than 85 transactions involving a variety of publicly traded, sponsor-owned and privately owned companies within a number of different industries, including more than 50 transactions totaling over $13 billion in transaction value in the packaging sector.

Prior to joining Baird in 2003, Justin was with Deutsche Bank Securities for nearly five years where he worked on numerous M&A and financing transactions primarily in the industrial sector. He received his MBA degree from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and graduated with a BA degree in Economics from Haverford College.

Alex Ballantine

Alex Ballantine is a Managing Director in Baird’s Global Industrial Group and has coverage responsibility for Baird’s activities in the packaging and specialty materials sectors in Europe, as well as broader coverage of the industrial technology sector.  Alex is a dual United States and British national that has spent his entire professional career in investment banking in London. In his career, Alex has worked on a diverse range of transactions spanning public and private mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets and other strategic advisory assignments for both private equity and corporate clients. Prior to joining Baird, Alex worked for both Hawkpoint Limited and ING Bank in London and has a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University in the United States.

Mike Barina is a Managing Director in Baird’s Global Industrial Investment Banking Group in Milwaukee. During his time in investment banking, Mr. Barina has completed over 30 mergers and acquisitions and corporate financing transactions across the industrial landscape. Prior to joining Baird, Mike was a Vice President in the M&A Group at J.P. Morgan in New York, where he focused on executing M&A transactions for clients in the industrial sector. Prior to his time in investment banking, Mike was a management consultant in Chicago. Mike received an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Chris Cooper joined Baird’s Global Industrial Investment Banking group in 2004 and is responsible for Baird’s building and construction products practice. While at Baird, he has completed over 40 M&A transactions and over 30 financing transactions for a broad range of publicly traded, sponsor-owned and family-owned companies in a variety of industries. Prior to joining Baird, he was in investment banking at A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc., where he provided analytical support on transactions primarily in the Energy sector. Chris received his MBA, with honors, from the University of Chicago. Prior to attending graduate school, he worked in various capacities at ABN Amro and LaSalle Bank. He received his BBA from the University of Notre Dame.

Thomas Fetzer joined Baird in 2015. Over the last 20 years he has advised international corporations and private equity clients on M&A and financing transactions valued at more than $50 billion across various sectors and geographies. Prior to joining Baird, Thomas was European Head of Industrials at Jefferies and a Managing Director in the Global Industrial Group at UBS. Before that he was a Principal at Greenhill & Co, helping to establish their M&A advisory business in Germany. He started his career at Merrill Lynch in London. Thomas graduated from ESB Reutlingen and Middlesex University with a double B.A. in Business Administration and received an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.

Jon Fitzsimmons is a Managing Director in Baird’s Global Investment Banking Group.  Since joining the firm in 2004, Jon has participated in over 60 completed mergers and acquisitions and corporate financing transactions, representing aggregate transaction value in excess of $15 billion.  Jon works across Baird’s Industrial, Healthcare and Consumer teams, with a particular emphasis on transactions in material science, chemicals, filtration and water markets.  From 2006 – 2008, Jon completed a secondment with Baird’s international M&A group in London, where he worked on transactions in England, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.  Jon received a BBA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin, and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he was a Baird Scholar.

Steve is a Managing Director in Baird’s Global Investment Banking practice and joined Baird in 2000.  Over his career, Steve has advised on a variety of mergers and acquisitions and financings, for public, private equity and family owned businesses serving most manufacturing sectors of the global economy.  In particular, Steve has completed more than 40 transactions totaling more than $8.5 billion in the global filtration industry.  Before joining Baird, Steve was a Vice President at Tucker Anthony.  Prior to graduate business school, he provided corporate tax and other advisory services for Price Waterhouse (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers).  Steve earned an MBA with distinction from the University of Michigan Business School and graduated with a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Virginia.  He also currently serves on the board of trustees of the University School of Milwaukee and board of directors of Deltrol Corporation.

Mark Heiberger joined Baird in 2012. Prior to joining Baird, he worked for Citigroup in the European Leveraged Finance team in London and for Greenhill in their Frankfurt based M&A team. During his work, he focused on sell-side transactions and leveraged buyouts as well as high yield bonds, primarily in the industrials and TMT sectors. Mark holds a Diplom-Kaufmann degree in finance, accounting and organisation theory from the Catholic University of Eichstaett-Ingolstadt.

Justin Holsen is a Managing Director in Baird’s Equity Capital Markets group, responsible for origination and execution of equity transactions in the Industrial and Energy sectors. Prior to joining Equity Capital Markets, Justin was an Institutional Equity Salesman responsible for lead sales coverage for several of Baird’s Institutional clients located on the West Coast. Justin also held various leadership roles across all of Baird’s Institutional Equity & Research group, focused on driving revenue growth and market share gains with key trading partners.

Prior to joining the Institutional Equity & Research group in 2006, Justin spent 3 years in Baird’s Institutional Fixed Income Capital Markets group, most recently as a Fixed Income Salesman, covering accounts across the U.S. Justin earned an B.S in Finance from Marquette University, where he played Division I Tennis and was team captain his junior and senior years.

Jason Kliewer is a Managing Director and Head of Baird’s Distribution Investment Banking team. Jason joined Baird in 1998 and has advised many of the most successful leadership teams, financial sponsors, public and private companies in the distribution sector. Jason has extensive M&A and capital markets experience working globally with distribution clients across diverse end markets. Jason received an MBA from the University of Cambridge, where he was a Gates Cambridge Scholar, and graduated with a BS degree in Finance, with highest honors, from the University of Florida.

Mike is the Co-Head of North American M&A and a senior member of Baird’s Global Industrial Group and its M&A Fairness Opinion Committee. Since joining Baird in 2003, he has completed nearly 100 mergers and acquisitions and corporate financing transactions. Mr. Lindemann has extensive experience leading public and private company transactions within a broad range of industrial sectors. During 2007, Mike served in Baird’s London and Frankfurt offices as a member of Baird’s International M&A team. Mike graduated from Bates College with a B.A. in Economics and received his M.B.A., with distinction, from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth where he was an Edward Tuck Scholar. Mike is very active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Milwaukee Winter Club and on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer of the Pettit National Ice Center.

Chris joined Baird in May 2002. He is Head of Baird's Global Mergers & Acquisitions activities and a member of the firm's Investment Banking Management Committee, as well as the M&A Fairness Opinion Committee. Chris has 27 years of investment banking experience. Prior to joining Baird, he was a Managing Director in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), which he joined as part of CSFB's November 2000 acquisition of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ). At DLJ, Chris was a Managing Director in DLJ’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group. Chris received his MBA from the University of Chicago and his BS degree from Babson College. He is a member of The Economic Club of Chicago and a member of the Board of Overseers at Babson College.

Based in Frankfurt, Oliver works with senior bankers across Baird’s global platform to serve corporate, private equity and family office clients in the DACH region. Oliver joined Baird in 2018 from Société Générale, where he was Head of Financial Sponsors Coverage for Germany & Austria and developed deep relationships with private equity funds, family offices and other financial sponsors in the region. Prior to Société Générale, he spent ten years at Rothschild and four years at Close Brothers Group in M&A banking roles. Oliver has an MBA (Finance) from The American University in Washington, DC.

Before joining Baird, Trish spent six years with Arthur Andersen, where she provided business, tax advisory and consulting services. She received her MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and graduated with a BBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Paul Rogalski joined Baird in 1995 and serves as the Vice Chairman of Global Investment Banking. For 20 years, Paul headed the Global Industrial Investment Banking Group at Baird. Paul has more than 30 years of Investment Banking experience and has been involved in a wide variety of financing and M&A transactions. Before joining Baird, he was a Partner at Vector Securities International. Earlier, he was a Senior Vice President in the Investment Banking group at Kidder, Peabody & Co. in Chicago. He received an MBA with distinction from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and his JD cum laude from Northwestern’s School of Law. He earned his undergraduate degree with high honors from the University of Notre Dame.

Nicholas qualified as a chartered accountant with Peat Marwick in South Africa. He spent 10 years at Barings in domestic and international corporate finance (North America and South Africa) and capital markets. Nicholas joined Baird in 1996, became a Director in 1998, a Managing Director in 2003 and co-head of European Investment Banking in 2004.

He has wide experience in company sales and acquisitions, public offers, bid defenses and capital raisings. Nicholas focuses on Industrial and Consumer mergers and acquisitions, working with clients in both North America and Europe.

Travis received his M.B.A., with high honors, from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and graduated summa cum laude from The Ohio State University with a B.S.B.A. in Finance and Accounting. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Public Accountant.
