Baird served as placement agent on the District’s issuance of $11,140,000 General Obligation Limited Tax Refunding Bonds, Series 2022A.

Baird identified the District’s outstanding General Obligation Limited Tax Bonds, Series 2012 as a potential refunding opportunity. The 2012 Bonds could be current refunded at tax-exempt interest rates up to three months prior to its November 1, 2022 call date with a delivery in August 2022. To minimize market risk, Baird recommended that the District lock in a tax-exempt rate on the refunding bonds in June through a private placement and deliver the bonds two months later in August.

As placement agent, Baird negotiated the final terms with the District’s local bank. The refunding generated over $190,600 in gross debt service savings and over $179,400 in present value savings for the District.
