In a rising interest rate environment, the value of funds which invest in fixed-income securities tends to decline due to their inverse relationship.
Baird Aggregate Bond Fund (BAGIX): The Fund maintains securities with longer maturities in order to provide a greater potential for return. Generally, the longer a bond’s maturity, the greater the interest rate risk. The Fund may also invest in U.S. dollar denominated foreign securities which involve additional risks such as currency rate fluctuations, political and economic instability, and different and sometimes less strict financial reporting standards and regulation. The Fund may also invest in mortgage- and asset-backed securities which include interest rate and prepayment risks more pronounced than those of other fixed income securities.
