Firm Helps Venue Unveil “First Avenue” Exhibit for Guests

On Wednesday, May 1, Baird hosted nearly 300 guests for a 100th anniversary celebration at the Minnesota History Center. Baird is the presenting sponsor of the new exhibit, "First Avenue: Stories from Minnesota's Mainroom," and local leaders, associates, clients and friends of the firm were the very first guests to experience the never-before-seen artifacts and behind-the-scenes memorabilia of one of the country's oldest and most iconic nightclubs.

Guests discovered how First Avenue, its staff and the Minneapolis music scene have changed over five decades.  Each display featured a different band, singer or DJ, all brought to life through video, photographs, and artifacts. Afterward, guests ate dinner on the split levels of the museum, sipped on signature "Purple Rain" inspired cocktails and explored the exhibit.

Baird speakers at the event included Paul Purcell, Chairman, and John Taft, Vice Chairman, who spoke to Baird's decades-long presence in Minnesota and dedication to the Twin Cities through community partnerships with organizations like Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, the Economic Club of Minnesota, Minnesota Public Radio, Walker Art Center, Minneapolis Foundation and the Minnesota History Center. Both leaders also expressed their enthusiasm about Baird expanding its presence in St. Paul this year.
