The Milwaukee, Wis.-based brokerage and advisory firm also strives to maintain an open dialogue with its 3,100 employees, says Mary Ellen Stanek, chief investment officer of Baird's asset management business and president of Baird Funds.
"Foundational to trust is transparency, and you need to have open communication, even in the tough times," Stanek says. In addition, being receptive to employee feedback during those discussions "builds so much trust in and of itself," she says.
