Rob Shick Earns National Recognition for Philanthropic Work

Rob Shick, senior vice president and branch manager of Baird’s Portland, Ore., wealth management office, has been named one of three national finalists for the Community Service Award, one of five categories in the ninth annual Invest in Others Community Leadership Awards. Rob is being honored for his work with the Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) Foundation, which will receive a $5,000 donation.

For 10 years, Rob has been instrumental in raising millions of dollars for the OHSU Foundation, advancing cancer research and care to benefit patients in Oregon and worldwide. In addition to serving as a board member since 2008, he joined the Knight Cancer Institute Council in 2006 and has chaired it since 2010. Most recently, he helped lead the ambitious and unprecedented Knight Cancer Challenge, which raised $1 billion in two years for an early cancer detection research program at OHSU. Rob is a nine-year cancer survivor.
