Baird Names Steffen Director of Advanced Planning, Promotes Grenier

MILWAUKEE, July 10, 2017Baird, an employee-owned international wealth management, capital markets, asset management and private equity firm, today announced that Timothy M. Steffen, CPA/PFS, CFP®, CPWA®, Director, has been promoted to the newly created role of Director of Advanced Planning for Baird’s Private Wealth Management business. In a related development, Scott M. Grenier, CFP®, AEP®, Senior Vice President, has been promoted to Manager of Financial and Estate Planning.

In his new role, Steffen will focus on educating Baird’s network of more than 875 financial advisors and clients about increasingly sophisticated wealth management planning strategies from financial and estate planning to retirement to insurance planning and beyond. Grenier now oversees Baird’s team of financial and estate planners across the U.S.

Steffen joined Baird in 1999 and has held the role of Director of Financial Planning since 2011. Prior to joining Baird, he was a tax and financial planning specialist with Arthur Anderson’s Private Client Services group. He is a member of the American and Wisconsin Institutes of CPAs, Investment Management Consultants Association and Financial Planning Association. He regularly shares his perspective on a wide range of financial planning topics with media, and offers tax and financial planning tips and insights on Twitter @TimSteffenCPA.

Grenier joined Baird in 2010 as a Senior Estate Planner and has more than 15 years of financial and estate planning experience. Previously he was a Vice President and Relationship Manager with Clearly Gull, a role in which he advised clients on financial and estate planning solutions, as well as portfolio management and asset allocation. He is a general member and former board president of the Milwaukee Estate Planning Forum, as well as a general member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, Financial Planning Association and National Association of Estate Planners and Councils.
