Navient Corporation (“Navient” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: NAVI) recently announced its acquisition of Xtend Healthcare LLC (“Xtend”), a portfolio company of WestView Capital Partners (“WestView”). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Navient is one of the nation’s largest loan management, servicing and asset recovery companies serving the student loan market. Navient services more than $300 billion in student loans supporting the educational and economic achievements of more than 12 million Americans. The Company is headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware.

Xtend currently serves more than 130 hospitals, ranging from large teaching university-affiliated hospitals and urban medical centers to rural critical access hospitals. Services include health insurance claims billing and account resolution, patient billing, customer service and follow-up, as well as revenue cycle consulting. Xtend leverages proprietary analytics, dedicated, service-center based client teams and its management team’s decades of experience to enable its clients to achieve superior revenue cycle performance. Xtend is headquartered in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

WestView is a private equity firm managing approximately $1 billion in capital. WestView focuses exclusively on lower middle market growth companies across a range of industries including healthcare services, business and technology services, software, industrial/manufacturing and consumer/retail. WestView’s transaction investments range from $10 million to $50 million. WestView is based in Boston, Massachusetts.
