Chris McMahonHead of Global Mergers & Acquisitions

Chris joined Baird in May 2002. He is Head of Baird's Global Mergers & Acquisitions activities and a member of the firm's Investment Banking Management Committee, as well as the M&A Fairness Opinion Committee. Chris has 27 years of investment banking experience. Prior to joining Baird, he was a Managing Director in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), which he joined as part of CSFB's November 2000 acquisition of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ). At DLJ, Chris was a Managing Director in DLJ’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group. Chris received his MBA from the University of Chicago and his BS degree from Babson College. He is a member of The Economic Club of Chicago and a member of the Board of Overseers at Babson College.

Brian P. McDonagh

Brian McDonaghCo-Head of Global Mergers & Acquisitions

Brian is a Managing Director and Co-Head of Baird's overall M&A practice. In addition, he plays a senior banker role with many of Baird's key industrial clients and is Chairperson of the firm's Fairness Opinion Committee. Brian has over 25 years of experience in the global Mergers & Acquisitions market, through which he has developed extensive experience in originating and executing a broad range of strategic transactions for publicly traded, sponsor-owned and privately owned middle-market companies across a wide variety of industries.

Prior to joining Baird in 2008, Brian spent almost 13 years at Wachovia Securities in Charlotte, NC, serving as Head of the Industrial Growth M&A Group and a member of the firm's Fairness Opinion Committee. He also spent over a decade in New York in the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Group of a predecessor firm to JPMorgan Chase, ultimately leading the origination and execution of domestic and cross-border advisory transactions with the firm's key industrial clients in his role as Co-Head of the Global Industrial M&A effort.

David M. Silver

Head of European Mergers & Acquisitions

David is the Head of Baird’s European Investment Banking team and Head of European M&A. He has extensive experience advising private equity clients, corporations and entrepreneurs in the United States and Europe. Before joining Baird in 1998, David practiced as a corporate and banking lawyer at Berwin Leighton. He earned an MBA with distinction from London Business School and a law degree from Leeds University. David is a trustee of The Renal Association.

Paul BailEuropean Debt Advisory

Paul joined Baird’s European M&A team in 2012 where he provides debt advisory expertise gained from over 12 years of lending and advising on leveraged finance transactions. Prior to Baird, Paul was with Investec Bank plc where he ran debt advisory for private equity-based transactions from 2009. Previously Paul worked for Barclays Bank plc as a Senior Director in 2005, rising to Head of the Financial Sponsors Leveraged Finance team in 2007. Paul started his career at Hill Samuel as a corporate banker before moving to a head office strategic development role at parent TSB Group and then spent eight years at Bank of America principally within their European leveraged finance team.

David is a Director in Baird's Mergers & Acquisitions group, where he focuses on M&A market analysis. David joined Investment Banking in early 2009 after more than ten years in Baird's Equity Research Department, including eight years as a senior analyst covering a wide range of consumer and retail stocks.

Mike Lindemann

Mike is a senior member of Baird’s Global Industrial Group and its M&A Fairness Opinion Committee. Since joining Baird in 2003, he has participated in over 65 completed mergers and acquisitions and corporate financing transactions. Mike has extensive experience leading public and private company transactions within a broad range of industrial sectors. During 2007, Mike served in Baird’s London and Frankfurt offices as a member of Baird’s International M&A team. Mike graduated from Bates College with a B.A. in Economics and received his M.B.A., with distinction, from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth where he was an Edward Tuck Scholar. Mike is very active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Milwaukee Winter Club and on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer of the Pettit National Ice Center.


Satoshi Matsumoto

Satoshi MatsumotoDirector of Japan Mergers & Acquisitions

Satoshi is a Managing Director and Director of Japan M&A. In his role, Satoshi leads the firm's cross-border M&A origination and execution efforts involving Japanese companies, working across all of Baird's industry groups and geographies. During his career, Satoshi has successfully completed 50+ M&A transactions totaling over $20 billion in value, the vast majority of which are cross-border deals involving Japanese companies. Prior to joining Baird in 2012, Satoshi was a Managing Director at Barclays Capital. Prior to joining Barclays in 2009, he was a Managing Director at Nomura Securities, which had acquired Lehman Brothers' former Asian & European operations. Prior to Nomura, Satoshi spent 11 years at Lehman Brothers in Tokyo and New York. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers in 1997, Satoshi worked at Long-Term Credit Bank of Japan. Satoshi has a B.A. in Economics from Keio University, Tokyo.

Anne-Marie Peterson

Anne-Marie PetersonCo-Head of Debt Advisory

Anne-Marie Peterson is a Managing Director and the Co-Head of Baird’s Debt Advisory Team. Her career encompasses more than 15 years of corporate finance and advisory experience. In 2017, Anne-Marie joined Baird from KeyBanc Capital Markets where she served as a Managing Director in the leveraged finance group, advising middle market financial sponsors on new LBO financings, refinancings and sell-side financings. Earlier in her career, Anne-Marie worked at Credit Suisse Securities in the financial sponsors group where she executed more than 50 transactions with a market value of nearly $50B. She also held other investment banking roles at Lehman Brothers, Deutsche Bank and Bear Stearns. Anne-Marie received her bachelor’s degree from Trinity College and her MBA from Columbia Business School at Columbia University.

Tahs Siddique

Tahseen Siddique joined Baird in 2005. He is responsible for M&A research across Baird’s sector verticals, providing content based research to corporate and private equity clients. Tahseen has worked on over 15 transactions across the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Spain, advising on the sale of companies to European, North American and Asian buyers. Prior to joining Baird, he graduated with a B.Sc. in Economics from University College London (UCL) and completed an internship at UBS.

Lydia Xu

Lydia XuHead of China Investment Banking

Lydia Xu is the Head of China Investment Banking at Baird, responsible for expanding both access to strategic and financial Chinese buyers for the firm’s sell side assignments, as well as advisory work from Chinese corporates and private equity firms looking to sell assets, make new investments or refinance debt. Lydia joined Baird in 2016 from BDA Partners where she was a Managing Director. A seasoned investment banker and finance professional with 15 years cross border M&A experience, she has advised on transactions across a range of industries, including manufacturing, chemical, auto and healthcare. Her clients have included Areva, AXA Private Equity, BASF, C.R. Bard, Donaldson, Hercules, Johnson Controls, Life Technologies, Magna, Millipore, Schneider and Siemens VDO. Lydia has a M.B.A from China Europe International Business School in Shanghai and a B.S. in Mathematics from Peking University in Beijing.
