David Silver

David is the Head of Baird’s European Investment Banking team and Head of European M&A. He has extensive experience advising private equity clients, corporations and entrepreneurs in the United States and Europe. Before joining Baird in 1998, David practiced as a corporate and banking lawyer at Berwin Leighton. He earned an MBA with distinction from London Business School and a law degree from Leeds University.

Peter Augar

Peter Augar

Peter Augar is a Director in Baird’s European Business Services Investment Banking team. Over the past seven years, Peter has worked on a variety of M&A and equity financing transactions for a broad range of publically-traded, financial sponsor owned and private companies in a variety of industries in Europe and the U.S. Prior to joining Baird in 2007, Peter worked for several years in Bear, Stearns & Co.’s investment banking practice. He holds a Masters degree in Chemistry from Oxford University.

Paul A. C. Bail

Paul Bail

Paul joined Baird’s European M&A team in 2012 where he provides debt advisory expertise gained from over 12 years of lending and advising on leveraged finance transactions. Prior to Baird, Paul was with Investec Bank plc where he ran debt advisory for private equity-based transactions from 2009. Previously Paul worked for Barclays Bank plc as a Senior Director in 2005, rising to Head of the Financial Sponsors Leveraged Finance team in 2007. Paul started his career at Hill Samuel as a corporate banker before moving to a head office strategic development role at parent TSB Group and then spent eight years at Bank of America principally within their European leveraged finance team. Paul has an Economics degree from Cambridge University.

Alex Ballantine

Alex Ballantine joined Baird in 2013, having previously worked as an M&A Vice President at Hawkpoint in London. Throughout his career in M&A, Alex has worked on a number of transaction assignments on the sell and buy-side for private equity, entrepreneur and public company clients. Recent successful assignments on which Alex has worked include advising TBG on the sale of SIHI to Flowserve, advising Waterlogic on its sale to Castik Capital, advising Montagu Private Equity on the sale of Unifeeder to Nordic Capital, advising the College of Law on the sale of its legal education business to Montagu Private Equity and advising the board of Psion Plc on its sale to Motorola Solutions, Inc. Prior to Hawkpoint, Alex worked in the M&A team at ING Bank in London, which he joined after graduating from Cornell University in the United States.

Joachim Beickler

Before joining Baird in 2008, Joachim was managing partner at two Frankfurt-based investment banking firms, Drueker & Co. from 1997 to 2005 and at Doertenbach & Co. He has advised German and international clients on merger and acquisition transactions, initial public offerings and delistings. Joachim has lived and worked in the US for many years. As an executive for General Motors, he was responsible for acquisitions and divestitures, both in the US and internationally. From 1993 to 1997 he was Chief Financial Officer of Linde AG. Joachim graduated as an engineer from Darmstadt Technical University and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Julien Darmon

Julien Darmon is a Managing Director in Baird’s European Investment Banking group in London and focuses on the Industrial sector. Julien rejoined Baird in 2015 from Harris Williams where he was a Managing Director in the firm’s London office. Julien established his investment banking career at Baird in London, joining as an Associate in 1999 and later working from Baird’s Chicago office for three years before returning to the London office in 2005. He has a BA in Accounting and Economics from Tel Aviv University and an MBA from Cass Business School, London.

Vincenzo di Nicola

Vincenzo Di

Vincenzo is Managing Director in Baird’s European Investment Banking group in London where he leads the firm’s European Healthcare Investment Banking practice. He has led several high profile deals in the med-tech, pharma and healthcare services spaces. Vincenzo joined Baird in 2015 from DC Advisory where he was Co-Head of UK Healthcare Investment Banking. Before DC Advisory, he was Vice President of Healthcare Investment Banking at RBS/ABN AMRO Corporate Finance and an Associate at Vitale & Associati in Milan. He earned a Masters in Finance from the London Business School, a Masters in International Finance and Management from the University of Business Administration, Vienna and a Bachelor degree from the University of Economics, Naples.

Thomas Fetzer

Thomas Fetzer is Baird’s Head of DACH Investment Banking in Frankfurt where he is responsible for overseeing the firm's Europe investment banking activities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Prior to joining Baird, Thomas was European Head of Industrials Investment Banking at Jefferies International in Frankfurt where he was responsible for the firm's regional investment banking activities across a broad range of Industrial sectors. He also spent four years as a Managing Director in the Europe Industrials Group at UBS Investment Bank in London and six years as Principal at Greenhill & Co. where he was a founding member of the firm's Frankfurt office. Thomas earned a BA in European Business Administration from the European School of Business, Reutlingen (D) and London and an MBA from Harvard Business School in Boston.

Vinay Ghai

Vinay is a Managing Director in Baird's Financial Sponsor Group, focusing on managing relationships with the European sponsor community, as well as a member of Baird's Europe Industrial Investment Banking Team. Vinay joined Baird in 2011, bringing extensive experience in acquisitions, disposals and capital raisings for both private equity and public companies across the Consumer, Services, Healthcare and Industrials sectors.

Prior to joining Baird, Vinay spent fourteen years at Hawkpoint, Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank. Vinay has a first class degree from Imperial College in London and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Sven Harmsen

Prior to joining Baird's International M&A team, Dr. Sven Harmsen spent several years with Drueker & Co./Leonardo & Co. in their German M&A team. He worked on several international buy-, sell-side and carve-out transactions and gained experience across a wide range of industries, especially in the industrials/capital goods industry. Dr. Harmsen graduated with a Diploma in Industrial Engineering and Management from Technical University of Berlin, a Master's Degree in Management Studies from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada and completed his Doctorate degree at Humboldt University, Berlin.

Jonathan Harrison

Jonathan Harrison is a member of Baird’s European Investment Banking team. He joined Baird in 2008, bringing extensive experience in a range of sub-verticals within the Technology, Services and Energy sectors.

With many years of experience in the Investment Banking industry, as well as a background as an auditor and an economist, Jonathan has long-established relationships with many large corporations and private equity firms and experience executing a number of flagship transactions for his client base.

Prior to joining Baird, Jonathan worked at Deutsche Bank where he was responsible for the firm’s Business Services franchise across EMEA. He has a first class degree in Economics and a Master of Philosophy in Finance.

Terry Huffine

Terry Huffine is a Managing Director in Baird’s Europe Consumer Investment Banking group in London. With his extensive transaction experience across several Consumer sector verticals, Terry provides in-depth industry advice and seasoned deal execution to Baird’s Consumer clients. Prior to joining Baird in 2015, he was a Managing Director and Head of Consumer at DC Advisory where he established and built out its fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) investment banking business. Prior to DC Advisory, Terry was a senior banker at ABN AMRO/Royal Bank of Scotland where he helped establish and grow the company’s London-based beverage and FMCG practices. Throughout his investment banking career, he has worked on several high profile transactions, including the $2bn enterprise value sale of Aujan to The Coca-Cola Company, SABMiller’s £732m acquisition of the outstanding shares in Kompania Piwowarska, CapVest’s simultaneous acquisition and merger of Cardinal Foods and Kronfågel Group and TowerBrook’s acquisition of Van Geloven.

Martin Luen

Martin Luen

Martin joined Baird in 2013, having previously been an M&A Director at Hawkpoint in London. He has significant experience in executing buyside and sellside M&A transactions for private equity firms, entrepreneurs and public companies, as well as equity and debt deals. He has worked across a variety of sectors, particularly business services and industrials. Prior to joining Hawkpoint, Martin worked at Deloitte and Andersen, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Martin gained a first class degree in Mathematics and Economics from Durham University.

Nicholas R. Sealy

Nick Sealy

Nicholas qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Peat Marwick in South Africa. He spent 10 years at Barings in domestic and international corporate finance (North America and South Africa) and capital markets. Nicholas joined Baird in 1996, became a Director in 1998, a Managing Director in 2003 and co-head of European investment banking in 2004.

He has wide experience in company sales and acquisitions, public offers, bid defences and capital raisings. Nicholas focuses on consumer and industrial mergers and acquisitions, working with both North American and European clients.

David Schreiter

David Schreiter joined Baird in 2010. While at Baird he has advised on numerous transactions, primarily but not exclusively, in the DACH region. His transaction experience is extensive, ranging across the industrial, consumer, business services and distribution sectors. Prior to joining Baird, David gained significant experience in corporate finance while working for Raiffeisen Investment’s Energy & Utilities Team in exclusive cooperation with Lazard. There he focused predominantly on M&A transactions with particular emphasis on the power and utilities sectors in Central and Eastern Europe. David graduated in Investment Banking and Finance, Risk Management and Insurance as well as Public Utility Management at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.

John Sun

John Sun is a Director in Baird’s European Technology and Services Investment Banking team. Prior to joining Baird in 2010, John was an Associate with Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Multi-Industries Investment Banking team. John started his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at a Canadian investment bank in Toronto. John received his MBA from INSEAD..

Peter Watson

Peter is a Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Baird's European Investment Banking division. Peter originally joined Baird in 1998 and has participated in advising clients on IPOs, takeovers and defences, capital-raisings, acquisitions and disposals. Prior to joining Baird, Peter spent 14 years with NatWest Wood Mackenzie.

From 2003 to 2006, Peter co-founded and led Watson Macneill, a recruitment firm dedicated to independent director search. He rejoined Baird in 2006. Peter graduated from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, with an honors degree in French Language and Literature, and then qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in London.

Michael Wolff

Before Michael joined Baird in 2003, he worked for Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt for nine years, primarily executing public and private merger and acquisition transactions. At Deutsche Bank, he focused on Chemicals, Automotive, Industrials and private equity transactions. Michael completed transactions involving German, European and U.S. private and public companies as well as private equity firms and their portfolio companies.

Earlier, Michael worked at Roland Berger Management Consultants and Arthur Andersen & Co. He graduated as a Diplom-Kaufmann from the University of Bayreuth and holds an MBA with high distinction from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
