Howard Lanser heads Baird’s Global Debt Advisory Group and also serves as a senior M&A execution specialist.  Howard has over 20 years of experience originating and executing financing and M&A advisory assignments in a diverse range of industry sectors including industrial, consumer, healthcare, and business services.  His clients have ranged from public multinational corporations to private, growth-oriented firms. 

Prior to Baird, Howard was an Associate in the investment banking departments of Credit Suisse First Boston and Merrill Lynch and a Financial Analyst at Morgan Stanley.  Howard received an M.B.A. with honors from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.  He also graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame where he received a B.A. in history and German.

Paul joined Baird’s European M&A team in 2012 where he provides debt advisory expertise gained from over 12 years of lending and advising on leveraged finance transactions. Prior to Baird, Paul was with Investec Bank plc where he ran debt advisory for private equity-based transactions from 2009. Previously Paul worked for Barclays Bank plc as a Senior Director in 2005, rising to Head of the Financial Sponsors Leveraged Finance team in 2007. Paul started his career at Hill Samuel as a corporate banker before moving to a head office strategic development role at parent TSB Group and then spent eight years at Bank of America principally within their European leveraged finance team.

Anne-Marie Peterson

Anne-Marie Peterson is a Managing Director on Baird’s Debt Advisory Team. Her career encompasses more than 15 years of corporate finance and advisory experience. In 2017, Anne-Marie joined Baird from KeyBanc Capital Markets where she served as a Managing Director in the leveraged finance group, advising middle market financial sponsors on new LBO financings, refinancings and sell-side financings.

Earlier in her career, Anne-Marie worked at Credit Suisse Securities in the financial sponsors group where she executed more than 50 transactions with a market value of nearly $50B. She also held other investment banking roles at Lehman Brothers, Deutsche Bank and Bear Stearns. Anne-Marie received her bachelor’s degree from Trinity College and her MBA from Columbia Business School at Columbia University.
