Head of Corporate Restructuring Group
Bill joined Baird in 2006 as head of the Corporate Restructuring. His focus is primarily on leveraged finance, out-of-court debt restructurings, refinancings and distressed M&A transactions as well as in-court bankruptcy reorganizations and Section 363 sales. During his career, Bill has led numerous higher-profile Middle Market Restructuring engagements throughout the United States.
He is the author of Price Allocations in Section 363 Sale Asset Purchase Agreements published in the October 2006 issue of The Journal of Corporate Renewal. Before joining Baird, he was a principal of Starshak Welnhofer & Co., a Chicago investment-banking boutique, which he founded in 1990.
Before that, he was a partner in the Chicago law firm of McBride, Baker & Coles (since merged into Holland & Knight). He received his JD, MBA and BA with distinction from Northwestern University.
