Quicken® Instructions

As a Baird OnLine client, you may download your Baird account information into Quicken® financial management software. You may also import tax form 1099 from your account into TurboTax®.

We only provided you with steps to assist you with downloading your account information. Robert W. Baird & Co. does not support the Quicken® software; you may direct your questions to Intuit®, the company that supports Quicken®.

To get started, you will need:

  • Quicken® software for Microsoft® Windows®
  • Baird account number
  • Your Baird OnLine userID and password
  • Internet connection – requires Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher with 128-bit encryption.

Follow These Easy Steps to Download into Quicken® 2009 

These instructions are provided by Baird to assist you in downloading data into Quicken® for Windows® software. As with most software products, there may be other steps or shortcuts available to accomplish the same result.

Set Up and Download Data to an Account Using  Quicken® 2009 for Windows® Software 
  1. Launch Quicken® for Windows® software.
  2. In the top menu bar, click Investing; Investing Accounts,and then Add Account.
  3. For account type, select Standard Brokerage; click Next
  4. Enter Robert W. Baird & Co.; click Next.
  5. Select Yes, connect to Robert W. Baird & Co. through Quicken®; click Next.
  6. Enter your Baird OnLine userID for Robert W. Baird & Co. User ID / username, your Baird OnLine Password for Robert W. Baird & Co. password, and reenter your password; click Next.
    1. Check any desired accounts and add an Account Name for each checked account; click Next.
    2. Select No to save password in the Password Vault; click Next.
    3. Select No on Are you setting up this type of account?; click Next.  Click Done.
    4. Choose how you want Quicken to handle these download transactions; click Next.
    5. Enter your cash balance as of today, if cash balance screen does not appear click on a red flag on the left side of the screen within the Investment Center (NOTE: You can get this information by logging into Baird OnLine (BOL) and going to the Account Information screen. However, the balance on BOL is adjusted in real time for transactions unavailable in today's download into Quicken®. Transactions/security positions are delayed by one day.)
    6. Click Done.
    7. Within the Investment Center on the left side of the screen, click on any additional account(s) with a red flag.
    8. Enter your cash balance as of today, (NOTE: You can get this information by logging into Baird OnLine (BOL) and going to the Account Information screen. However, the balance on BOL is adjusted in real time for transactions unavailable in today's download into Quicken®. Transactions/security positions are delayed by one day.)
    9. Click Done

Follow These Easy Steps to Download into Quicken® 2008 and Quicken® 2007

These instructions are provided by Baird to assist you in downloading data into Quicken® for Windows® software. As with most software products, there may be other steps or shortcuts available to accomplish the same result.
Set Up and Download Data to an Account Using Quicken® 2008 and Quicken® 2007 for Windows® Software


  1. Launch Quicken® for Windows® software.
  2. In the top menu bar, click Investing; Investing Accounts,and then Add Account.
  3. Select This account is held at the following institution.
  4. Enter Robert W. Baird & Co.; click Next.
  5. Select Yes, I want to connect to Robert W. Baird & Co. through Quicken®. I have a Robert W. Baird & Co. username and password. Click Next.
  6. Enter your Baird OnLine userID for Customer ID, your Baird OnLine Password for PIN, and confirm your password; click Next.

    1. Once the Account has completed downloading, click Done.
    2. Check any desired accounts and add an Account Name for each checked account; click Next, then click Done.
    3. Click close to exit the One Step Update Summary window.
    4. Enter your cash balance as of today, if cash balance screen does not appear click on a red flag on the left side of the screen within the Investment Center (NOTE: You can get this information by logging into Baird OnLine (BOL) and going to the Account Information screen. However, the balance on BOL is adjusted in real time for transactions unavailable in today's download into Quicken®. Transactions/security positions are delayed by one day.)
    5. Click Done.
    6. Within the Investment Center on the left side of the screen, click on any additional account(s) with a red flag.
