Ryan Maher
Director

Ryan Maher provides issuers in the southeastern United States with investment banking and financial advisory services. His financing experience encompasses all solution types, including fixed rate, variable rate and derivatives-based structures. Ryan’s financing experience includes transactions for state and local governments, water and sewer systems, acute healthcare and senior living providers, and economic development projects. In 2008, he completed the first traditional fixed rate tax increment financing in North Carolina. Over the past five years, Ryan has managed more than 55 financings totaling over $1.5 billion in par value.

Prior to joining Baird, Ryan has served as a director and an investment banker at a number of large financial firms. He is a regular lecturer at the School of Government at the University of North Carolina. He received a bachelor’s degree in business and finance from North Carolina State University.

 
Stephen E. Anderson
Vice President

Stephen Anderson provides quantitative, analytical and transaction support to Baird’s Southeastern public finance offices. During his investment banking career, he has structured all types of financings, including general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, lease revenue bonds, certificates of participation, financial advisory engagements, and derivative-based structures. He has served as a key member of the financing team for over 85 financings totaling $5.3 billion in par value. Prior to joining Baird, Stephen was worked at several leading financial services firms. Before entering public finance, Stephen served as a budget analyst in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer of the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, DC. He received a bachelor’s degree in financial management from Bob Jones University and an MBA in finance from Clemson University.
