Acquisition of GL Education Group


Baird served as the exclusive financial advisor to Investcorp on this transaction


Investcorp Bank B.S.C. (“Investcorp”), recently completed the acquisition of GL Education Group (“GLE” or the “Company”), formerly Granada Learning Group, a portfolio company of Veronis Suhler Stevenson (“VSS”). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

GLE provides more than 15,000 schools with assessment products and services used by teachers to measure students' core abilities and to take decisions about their learning paths. The Company operates through two business units, GL Assessment and GL Performance. GL Assessment provides a complete picture of a pupil's abilities, motivations, strengths, anxieties, school-based relationships and future learning behaviours via the Company’s cognitive ability, subject/curriculum based and psychological assessment products. GL Performance supports schools in their performance management by providing services such as school self-evaluation and stakeholder surveys, data interpretation and analysis services, and other professional development support. GLE is headquartered in London, England.

Investcorp is a provider and manager of alternative investment products. Investcorp has offices in London, New York and Bahrain and is publicly traded on the Bahrain Stock Exchange (INVCORP). Since its inception in 1982, Investcorp has completed over 90 private equity investments with a total value of over $30 billion.

VSS is a private investment firm that invests in buyout and structured investments in the information, education, media, communications and business services industries in North America and Europe. Since 1987, VSS has managed funds with committed capital exceeding $3 billion and has invested in 66 platform companies, which have together completed over 300 add-on acquisitions.
