BlueStar Energy Holdings Inc. (“BlueStar” or the “Company”) recently completed its sale to AEP Retail Energy Partners LLC, the unregulated subsidiary of American Electric Power (“AEP”) (NYSE: AEP).

BlueStar provides electric supply for retail customers in Ohio, Illinois and other deregulated electricity markets. The Company also provides energy solutions, including demand response and energy efficiency services, nationwide. BlueStar has been in operation since 2002 and has approximately 21,000 customer accounts. BlueStar is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

AEP is one of the largest electric utilities in the United States, delivering electricity to more than five million customers in 11 states. AEP ranks among the nation’s largest generators of electricity, owning nearly 38,000 megawatts of generating capacity. AEP also owns one of the nation’s largest electricity transmission systems. AEP is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio and is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
