Baird served as the exclusive financial advisor to Hoffmaster Group, Inc.


Hoffmaster Group, Inc. (“Hoffmaster” or the “Company”), a portfolio company of Kohlberg & Company, LLC (“Kohlberg”), has been acquired by Metalmark Capital, LLC (“Metalmark”). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Hoffmaster is a market-leading North American designer, manufacturer and supplier of decorated, premium disposable tableware (including napkins, plates, tablecovers and placemats) sold to major consumer retail and foodservice customers. Hoffmaster is well regarded for its design and manufacturing capabilities, providing the Company with unique growth opportunities as retailers expand their seasonal / life celebration planograms, and as national restaurant and hospitality chains increasingly realize the branding and cost-in-use benefits of premium disposable tableware products.

Kohlberg is a leading U.S. middle-market private equity firm, focused on investing in companies where it can work in partnership with senior management to identify growth opportunities and implement fundamental operating and strategic changes. Since its inception in 1987, Kohlberg has completed 165 platform and add-on acquisitions in its fund portfolios, representing aggregate value of more than $8 billion.

Metalmark is a leading private equity firm founded in 2004 by the principals of Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, with an investment focus in the North American industrial, health care and natural resource sectors.
