PharMEDium Healthcare Corp. (“PharMEDium”), the leading provider of outsourced pharmacy compounding services to hospitals, announced that Oak Investment Partners has invested in PharMEDium. Current investors Baird Capital Partners (BCP) and Baird Venture Partners (BVP) (collectively, “Baird Private Equity”) have sold a portion of their ownership but still retain a meaningful equity position in PharMEDium; David N. Jonas, the founder of the company, will retain his equity position. Terms of Oak Investment Partners, BCP and BVP’s investments were not disclosed.

PharMEDium is a national provider of pharmacy compounding services across multiple therapeutic classes and today services over 1,800 hospitals throughout the United States. Founded in 1992 as Compass Services by Baxter Healthcare Corp., the business unit was acquired by PharMEDium in 2003.

Oak Investment Partners is a multi-stage venture capital firm with a total of $8.4 billion in committed capital. The primary investment focus is on high growth opportunities in communications, information technology, internet new media, financial services information technology, healthcare services and consumer retail.

Baird Private Equity is a global private equity group that makes venture capital, change-in-control and growth equity investments in the United States through Baird Venture Partners and Baird Capital Partners and in Europe through Baird Capital Partners Europe and Granville Baird Ltd, an affiliated fund manager that invests in Germany. Baird Private Equity has raised and managed $2.2 billion in capital.
