Baird Adds Seven Veteran Financial Advisors in Houston, Enhances Retirement Services Offerings

Baird announced today that it has added seven veteran financial advisors, all of whom are legacy A.G. Edwards & Sons advisors who were most recently with Wells Fargo Advisors, to its Private Wealth Management business in Houston. The advisors all have a business model that is primarily focused on the retirement planning needs of professionals in the oil and gas industries. Collectively, they bring more than 135 years of combined industry experience and oversee more than $1.9 billion in client assets.

The addition of these advisors demonstrates the continued growth of Baird in the region and evolution of its Private Wealth Management business. They are working out of Baird’s new Houston office located at 945 Bunker Hill Road. Baird also has a Houston office at Five Post Oak Park in The Galleria district. Both offices are managed by John Hantak, Senior Vice President, Branch Manager, who joined Baird from UBS in April.

In addition, Baird has established Baird Retirement Management, a new affinity program for financial advisors across Baird whose business focus is on providing retirement planning and investment consulting services to business professionals. The program will capitalize on the advisors’ deep expertise in this area and enhance the firm’s current retirement services offerings through research, ongoing education and other resources benefiting Baird financial advisors and their clients.

Ashcroft and Pesek have worked together as The Ashcroft Pesek Group for more than 15 years. Ashcroft joined A.G. Edwards in 1984 and held a number of positions with the firm including branch manager. He holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Arizona State University and a Master of Science degree in financial planning with a concentration in retirement planning from the College for Financial Planning. Pesek began his financial career with A.G. Edwards in 1998. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology from Texas A&M. They are joined by Financial Advisor in Training Scott Bartosh and Client Relationship Assistant Kathy Ballew. 

Evans and Allain joined A.G. Edwards in 1997 and 2000 respectively. A more than 20-year industry veteran,  Evans holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Indiana University and earned an MBA from the University of St. Thomas in Houston with a concentration in finance. He received a Master of Science degree in financial planning with a concentration in retirement planning from the College for Financial Planning. Prior to joining A.G. Edwards, Allain spent a decade in the health care industry with Parke-Davis and Pfizer. He has a bachelor’s degree in general studies with minors in math and engineering science from The University of Southwestern Louisiana and an MBA in finance from Louisiana State University. Crumley joined the team in 2007 as an associate and became a financial advisor in 2011. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a professional certificate in leadership studies. The Evans-Allain-Crumley Group also includes Client Relationship Assistant Ligia Grijalva.

A nearly 30-year industry veteran, Barnefield joined A.G. Edwards as a financial advisor in 2001. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Indiana University and an MBA from the University of Houston.

Barrow, who has worked as a financial advisor for nearly 30 years, joined A.G. Edwards in 1990. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Houston.
