Baird Adds Barnett, Leith to Raleigh Wealth Management Office

RALEIGH, N.C. March 14, 2011
Baird announced today that it has named Andrew Barnett and Carolyn Leith, CFP®, Vice Presidents and Financial Advisors at its Raleigh, N.C., wealth management office. The two veteran advisors bring nearly 50 years of combined industry experience to Baird, an international, employee-owned wealth management, capital markets, private equity and asset management firm.

The addition of these wealth management professionals demonstrates Baird’s continued commitment to the Southeast and the continued expansion of the private wealth management office in Raleigh, which opened in May.

“We couldn’t be more pleased that Andy and Carolyn have chosen to continue their careers at Baird,” said Bill Sewell, Senior Vice President, Branch Manager of Baird’s Raleigh office. “They are a tremendous addition to Baird’s Private Wealth Management group and our team in Raleigh, and their decision to join our firm speaks volumes about our culture and commitment to being the best financial partner for our clients.”

Barnett was a Financial Advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors before joining Baird. He spent more than 20 years at A.G. Edwards & Sons where he remained through acquisitions by Wachovia and then Wells Fargo. He is a graduate of High Point University. He and his wife live in Raleigh, and have two children now in college.

A 25-year industry professional, Leith was previously a Financial Advisor for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. She graduated cum laude in 1985 from Meredith College in Raleigh with a degree in business administration and now serves as a trustee for the college. Active in the community, she serves on the Board for Barium Springs Home for Children and tutors at Millbrook Elementary School. A resident of Raleigh, she has two grown children.

Baird has added 182 Financial Advisors and Branch Managers to its Private Wealth Management group since the beginning of 2009, the vast majority of whom are industry veterans. Beyond adding talent, Baird has opened or announced plans to open wealth management offices in several new markets.
