Parkins Joins Baird As Branch Manager In Kansas City
 
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 30, 2011
 
Thomas J. ParkinsBaird, an employee-owned international wealth management, capital markets, asset management and private equity firm, announced today it has named Thomas J. Parkins, Vice President and Branch Manager of its Kansas City office, located at 444 W. 47th Street, Suite 100.

“We are pleased to welcome Tom to our Private Wealth Management business and to Baird,” said Erik Dahlberg, Regional Director for Baird Private Wealth Management. “With his extensive industry experience, high integrity, and appreciation for Baird’s unique culture, he is well suited to lead our wealth management office in Kansas City.”

Parkins, who has more than 20 years of experience in the financial service industry, was most recently a Principal and Director of New Business Development at Kenilworth Asset Management in Chicago. He has also worked for firms including Piper Jaffrey, Chicago Investment Group, Lehman Brothers, Oppenheimer & Company, and Morgan Stanley & Company. He began his career as a financial advisor and has since held a wide variety of management positions in the industry. He is a graduate of University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Science degree in history.

Currently a resident of Glencoe, Ill., Parkins will be relocating to Kansas City. He is a member of the National Eagle Scout Association and actively involved with numerous school and religious organizations. He and his wife Patti have three children.
