Baird Adds Veteran Financial Advisor Team In Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, Aug. 31, 2011

Baird today announced that it has added a veteran financial advisor team, The McCollum Group to its Charlotte office. Previously with Wells Fargo Advisors, The McCollum Group brings more than 70 years of combined industry experience to Baird. The father/son team includes Financial Advisors M. William “Bill” McCollum, Jr., Director, and W. Travis McCollum, CFP®, Vice President. They are joined by Registered Client Relationship Associates Malone Wade and Jamie Halbig.

A 38-year industry veteran, Bill McCollum has served clients as a financial advisor with firms including Legg Mason, Interstate/Johnson Lane and Dean Witter Reynolds where he also held the position of branch manager. He earned his bachelor’s of business administration in Accounting at Wake Forest University and is active in alumni affairs. He also completed a course of study at the Securities Industry Institute at The Wharton School. Bill McCollum currently serves on the Advisory Board of Sharon Towers, a Presbyterian retirement home in Charlotte, and is a past Chairman of the board. He also actively volunteers with his church. He lives in Charlotte with his wife Kathy. They have two adult children, Travis and Peyton.

Part of the securities industry since 1996, Travis McCollum was a financial advisor with Legg Mason Wood Walker prior to Wells Fargo. He also worked as an institutional mutual fund wholesaler for Evergreen Investments, a subsidiary of Wells Fargo & Company. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wake Forest University in Communications and Psychology. Active in the community, he volunteers with Charlotte Country Day School and his church. In addition, he coaches baseball teams in the Myers Park Trinity Little League and Park Sharon Athletic Association. He lives in Charlotte with his wife Eva and their two children, Tyler and Erin.
