Baird Adds O’Brien And Rogatz, Continues Real Estate Investment Banking Expansion

Baird, an employee-owned, international capital markets, private equity, wealth and asset management firm, today announced that that it has added James (Jim) E. O’Brien and Jeffrey (Jeff) F. Rogatz as Managing Directors to the firm’s Real Estate Investment Banking team. O’Brien, most recently a Managing Director in the Real Estate Investment Banking group with FBR & Co., will focus on financial sponsor groups investing in real estate and driving traditional M&A business for the group. Rogatz, most recently the President of Ridgeway Capital LLC, will focus on equity and M&A opportunities in the office and industrial space. Both will work in Baird’s McLean, Virginia office.

The addition of O’Brien and Rogatz marks the ongoing expansion of Baird’s Real Estate Investment Banking team. In August, Steven Goldberg joined Baird as Managing Director to lead the team, particularly focusing on opportunities in the lodging industry.

Prior to joining Baird, O’Brien was a Managing Director in the Real Estate Investment Banking group with FBR & Co. He also was a member of the private equity placement group with UBS Investment Bank for five years and served as President and Founder of CVC Investments, Inc. from 1989-1999. O’Brien received a bachelor of science degree in management from St. Joseph’s University and earned a master in business administration from Duke University.

Rogatz was most recently the President of Ridgeway Capital LLC. He also served as Chief Financial Officer of Brandywine Realty Trust for three years and, prior to that, was the Head of the REIT practice at Legg Mason Wood Walker for 12 years. Rogatz serves on of the Board of Directors of CapLease Inc. and U-Store-It Trust, two publicly traded REITS. He earned a bachelor of science degree in systems engineering from the University of Virginia and a master in business administration from The College of William & Mary.
